It’s been just a month since we visited Malaysia and here we are again. Yes, this time we had been to ‘Kuala Lumpur’. This trip was so special for me and Chandan as our parents were part of it. We planned this trip especially for them, so we were longingly waiting to see their excitement towards this journey.

It was 3 Days trip, traveling to Malaysia from Singapore comes with a lot of convenient commuting options like train, bus, car or flight. We traveled by bus, It took around 4–5 hrs to reach KL from Johor Bahru, can also take the bus from Singapore but due to Chinese new year, the fare was overpriced.

We were 6 in total, traveling by bus was cost effective for us and we planned accordingly, but if you take flight you will save a lot of time and can plan for some more places to visit in Malaysia.
Our journey began on Saturday, Since it was a peak time we faced bit glitches here and there because of traffic, we almost missed our bus, but luckily we were able to make it on time, thank god.

We had booked Airbnb just for the purpose of cooking so that parents(& I 😉) can still enjoy authentic Indian food, Airbnb is really a boon during such times and cheaper as well. Our Airbnb was located at the center of KLCC, we were a few blocks away from Petronas tower. We were able to see it closely when we peep from our window :)

Day 1, Feb 2

Travel & Rest day

We Reached Airbnb around 6 pm, got ourselves some time to settle at our new house. Didn’t plan to visit anything on the day we arrived at KL, so the day went just normal by enjoying the ambiance and our stay at the new home.

Believe me, parents were so happy and comfortable they didn’t feel they were away from home. we carried some groceries with us and bought a few more in Malaysia.

Day 2, Feb 3

Batu Caves, KL Tower, Petronas tower
Cave temple in Batu Caves

We prepared breakfast at home and started towards our very first destination. One more thing I must say Grab was so much helpful and cozy (If you don’t want to rent a vehicle for yourself).
Our first destination was Batu Caves, we all would have seen the tallest statue of Murugan in some or other movies or shows. But trust me in reality, it is one of the unique places to embrace the mixture of sanctity and nature, gold-colored Murugan statue is placed right in front of well scattered green hills. Isn’t is a perfect combination!!!

Temples located over there are well built and they comprise of carvings and colorful sculptures, you can witness different forms of Muruga.
Right behind the temple, you can notice around 100–150 stairs, if you climb them you will come across giant cave-temples. You can also take a glimpse of the city from that height. The caves are of limestone nature sculpted limestone art adorns this place.

There are many hotels just beside temples, you can stop by for lunch, snacks or refreshment. The day was a scorcher 🤥 well with that we carried away ourselves to next destination, ‘KL Tower’.
It is of 400 ft height and there is no doubt it ensures to give us 360 views of KL. It is better if you can book tickets online(Klook App), it saves time and money.

You can enjoy watching KL city either from closed glass or open deck. Watching from an open deck is what I recommend and it is worth your money.
In the open deck, there are 2 sky boxes, The purpose of this is to add a pinch of adventure to sightseeing. This box has a transparent bottom. It’s up to you to choose which sky-box you want to go based on which background you would like to click the photo 😝 we went to both the sky-boxes, one sky-box is in front of Petronas tower. Most of them would love to get pictures in front of that(Me too 😉). A different experience I must say, when you get inside sky-box you will be given 2 min time to grasp the view and take pictures, well we managed to do both. Parents were so much excited and they were not at all scared to stand on the transparent bottom box, I was a bit scared though.
Frequent refreshment breaks were part of our outing since we were with parents and they used to feel tired sometimes. We stopped for a coffee break right at the base of KL Tower. Luckily we were able to find Indian restaurants. Onion pakoras were mouthwatering.

We happened to come across a water light music dance at the base of the Petronas tower. We were fascinated by watching excellently combined music water dance and we watched it for an hour and headed back to our house.

KL tower

It was a different experience, surrounding yourself by renowned marvelous structures in KL city, divinity with the touch of nature in Batu Caves and colorful good night conveyed from water, music dance at the base of Petronas. All this made the day more lovely and lively.

Day 3, Feb 4

Genting Highlands

Most excited because this is my first Highland…Yes, we planned to go for ‘Genting Highland’ which is about an hour from KLCC.

Chin Swee Cave Temple

You can reach the top of highland either by road or by cable car, We chose to go by cable car. As it was the first time for my parents they were most excited and curious in many ways. I cannot explain their eagerness and excitement and it was our pleasure to explain to our parents and make them understand about new things they came across. I and Chandan are lucky and thankful to God that we got this chance. Never hinder whenever you get this chance, because you will be embarking the most beautiful experience. Don’t miss it.
Cable car experience was blissful and you can pitch upon really good Ariel views of mountains. You can stop by ‘Chin Swee Caves temple’, It’s a Chinese temple located in the top such a wonderful location and every piece will grab your attention. It’s a bit cold over there so please carry cold wear.
You can witness Buddha’s sitting statue, WOW cannot miss this huge Buddha and greenery acquired this idol of ‘Peace and harmony’. Do stop by in the cable car and visit this place.

We continued our journey after visiting Chin Swee temple in the cable car, At the peak point of Genting Highland, there are many malls and hotels. You can also stay in Genting island if you want to avoid traveling from KL. There were many activities like short zip line inside the mall, there was a colorful small carnival was held at the center of the mall which was fun and lists never ends here, there were many attention-seeking formations formed out of different things, so you can enjoy to the core undoubtedly.

I also had heard about amusement park but apparently, it was closed for uplifting but no wonder Genting island will become a must visit soon once amusement park gets renovated.
Cannot forget sipping hot ginger tea at the top of Highland when it was chilling cold.
No Indian restaurants in the mall, But vegetarians can still manage with the subway.
We roamed over there and returned to KLCC in the evening.
This day offered us new experience completely different from the first day, It was a calm and peaceful day staying close to nature.
KL coaxed us to adapt its both faces. Next day we headed back to Singapore carrying away many cherishable memories.

Day 4, Feb 5
